About The Film

As stated by Northwest Primary Care, "by 2020, the US Department of Health and Human Services estimated that 157 million Americans will be afflicted with a chronic illness and the US Census Bureau estimates 96% of chronic illnesses are invisible."

Inspiration/Purpose

The Score Keeper is inspired by the book: "The Body Keeps the Score" by Bessel van der Kolk. The idea that trauma can be stored in your body and make you both physically and mentally sick is something a lot of people are recognizing within themselves. The more in tune we can be with ourselves and our stories, the more we can begin to heal and rewire to live healthier and more wholesome lives. This narrative is based on true events and is a way to help others feel less alone in their journies of self-discovery. The goal is to express that we have to go through the dark parts and the shadows in order to understand the light.
